How to Choose Curtains for Each Room

You do not have to start with the prettiest colour. Start with how the room is used, then choose fabric, heading style, and a track or rod that fits the window.
Light and privacy first
Bedrooms usually need more light control than living rooms. West-facing rooms in Phuket get strong afternoon sun. Sheers alone may not be enough. If you still want soft daylight, pair sheers with a heavier curtain.
Ask how much you want people outside to see, by day and at night. Some sheers look more private in daylight than they do after dark.
Match the fabric to the job
Sheers filter light. Dimout reduces glare without full darkness. Blackout helps when you need more darkness for sleep or a screen. The real result depends on the cloth, layering, and gaps around the frame.
Outdoor or balcony fabric should handle sun and moisture better than a living-room cloth.
Heading and track
Pinch pleats look classic. Ripple fold gives a clean line. Tab tops and rod pockets are simpler on a visible rod. Heavy fabric on a light rod will sag and be hard to draw.
For sliding doors or wide openings, plan a stack-back so curtains do not block the walkway.
What to send for a quote
A daytime photo of the full window, how many openings, a rough size, the location, a style you like, and a budget range all help. If you cannot measure yet, send photos first. Confirmed sizes are used for the actual quotation.
