Blackout

Blackout fabric is for rooms that need a stronger hold on daylight — bedrooms, media rooms, and openings with harsh sun. How dark the room becomes still depends on the cloth and how the curtain is hung.

What blackout can and cannot do

A blackout cloth blocks more light than a sheer or a dim-out. It does not automatically make a room pitch black. Gaps at the sides, the heading, and the floor, plus the colour of the cloth, all affect the result.

We would rather explain that clearly than promise a cinema if the window cannot support it. Photos of the opening help us be honest about what is realistic.

Choosing and hanging it well

Pair blackout with a heading and track that let the cloth cover the glass generously. A sheer in front is still possible if you want a softer look by day.

The team can show samples and talk through overlap, returns, and whether a pelmet or a closer fit would help. Final darkness is confirmed only with the chosen fabric and the measured opening.

Blackout curtains in Phuket are a frequent request for villa and condo bedrooms. Results still depend on the cloth and curtain installation.

A good fit when

  • Bedrooms that need a darker sleep
  • Rooms with a screen or strong afternoon sun
  • Layered curtains with a sheer for daytime

What helps us advise you

  • Window photos, including the sides and the top of the frame
  • How dark you hope the room will feel
  • Whether you also want a sheer layer
