Tab Top
Tab top uses fabric loops that slide on a rod you can see. It is easy to draw and has a relaxed look — a natural match for lighter cloth and casual rooms.
Loops on a rod
The heading is a row of tabs, so the rod stays in view. Opening and closing is straightforward. The folds are softer and less tailored than a pinch pleat.
It suits sheers and lighter drapes. A very heavy cloth can drag on the rod, so we check the weight before recommending this heading.
Choosing the rod with the cloth
Because the rod is visible, its finish matters as much as the fabric. Bring a photo of the room so we can talk about both together.
If you already have a rod, tell us the diameter. Tabs need to clear it comfortably.
A good fit when
- Casual rooms that want a visible rod
- Sheers and lighter curtains that should be easy to draw
- Windows where a track would feel too formal
What helps us advise you
- Photos of the window and the wall above it
- Whether you already have a rod, and roughly how thick it is
- If the cloth will be sheer, light, or something heavier
