Rod Pocket
A rod pocket is a sewn channel that the rod slides through. It is a simple heading, easy to hang, and it suits sheers and other lighter fabrics.
A straightforward heading
There are no rings or carriers. The fabric gathers on the rod and stays there. Drawing the curtain is gentler than with a track, so this heading is better for cloth you do not open and close many times a day.
It is often chosen for sheers, café-style windows, and rooms that want a gathered, informal top.
When another heading is clearer
Wide openings, heavy blackout, and curtains you pull daily are usually happier on a track or with rings. We will say so if a rod pocket would fight the way you use the room.
If you like the gathered look but need easier movement, we can compare tab top or a simple pleat on the same rod.
A good fit when
- Sheers and light curtains on a visible rod
- Windows that stay mostly in one position through the day
- Rooms that want a gathered, informal heading
What helps us advise you
- Photos of the window and the rod, if you already have one
- How often you expect to open and close the curtain
- Whether the fabric is sheer or something heavier
